COVER YOUR EARS!

Much to the alarm of people with ears everywhere, the official musical companion to A Series of Unfortunate Events is coming this October, arriving in stores the same week as The End, the thirteenth and final book in Mr. Snicket’s chronicles of the Baudelaire orphans.

Containing a song for each of the thirteen books in the series—plus two extra songs inspired by Mr. Snicket’s work—“The Tragic Treasury: Songs from A Series of Unfortunate Events” incorporates all of the music originally available only on HarperCollins’ Lemony Snicket audio books, including the widely-feared “Scream and Run Away.”

Shockingly, all songs are performed by The Gothic Archies— a musical project of composer/singer/instrumentalist Stephin Merritt (best known for his band the Magnetic Fields)— with accompaniment by Mr. Snicket himself on the accordion.

“The Tragic Treasury” CD is now available on Nonesuch Records. Wouldn’t you prefer to listen to something else?
